Waukegan Tire is a dynamic and growing family owned tire company dedicated to providing high-quality services/products to our clients. We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team.
Position Overview:
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and vendor relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in accounts payable to contribute to our financial operations in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies
Prepare and execute payments to vendors via check, ACH, or other methods
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable activities in the accounting system
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and account status
Ensure proper documentation and filing of all accounts payable records
Collaborate with internal departments to address payment-related issues
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role (preferred)
Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred)
